Executive Committee

CAPCOG’s Executive Committee is the agency’s governing body. The board can consist of up to 29-members largely comprised of city and county elected officials nominated and selected annually to provide direction to CAPCOG staff on program implementation, budgets, contracts and general policies and procedures for managing the agency. The committee has up to four nonvoting seats for state legislators representing Texas Planning Region 12, the CAPCOG 10-county region.

Executive Committee members serve a one-year term from January through December and meet at 10 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.

CAPCOG’s Executive Committee, its staff and its members have the mission to continue to strengthen the Capital of Texas ten-county region by supporting urban and rural local governments through coordination, collaboration, and sharing of ideas and resources.

Meetings, Minutes and Bylaws

The Executive Committee abides the CAPCOG bylaws which define how CAPCOG is organized and managed. Article V and VI entitled the Executive Committee and  Officers of the Council respectfully address the powers of the governing body. Other sections address the selection of the Executive Committee.

Capital Area Emergency Communications District Board of Managers

The Executive Committee also serves as the Capital Area Emergency Communications District’s Board of Managers. In this role, they are charged with determining funding sources, setting governing policy, appointing a technical advisory committee, adopting a budget and staffing the district.
