The CAPCOG Air Quality Program will conduct a workshop for local government and transportation practitioners as well as policy makers to learn best practices and trends for using neighborhood electric vehicles to help reduce carbon emissions and traffic congestion while increasing safety and access. The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at CAPCOG, 6800 Burleson Road, Building 310, Suite 165 in Austin.
By covering the topic of developing low-emission alternative networks lanes for low-speed and low- to no-emission vehicles, the workshop will focus on expanding mobility and meeting transportation goals. Facilitators for the workshop will led an interactive dialogue on how such transportation modes can improve safety, public health, equity and economic resilience. They also will discuss how other communities have implemented these transportation programs and possible funding opportunities for installing infrastructure.
