CAPCOG’s Air Quality Program and its Clean Air Coalition are seeking nominations for the Air Central Texas Awards. The awards celebrate the positive contributions of organizations and individuals make to regional air quality in Central Texas by recognizing the great work happening across the region while inspiring future actions that support ongoing air quality planning efforts. Nomination deadlines are Friday, Nov. 18, 2022. Self-nominations and the nominations of others are both welcomed.
This year’s award categories include:
- Air Central Texas Outstanding Organization Award– recognizing an activity by an organization that helps reduce local air pollution past year.
- Air Central Texas Media Award– recognizing exceptional media coverage of air quality or air quality issues within the past year.
- Air Central Texas Environmental Education Award– recognizing an individual or organization that has exhibited exceptional leadership in air quality education over the past year.
- Air Central Texas Research Award– recognizing an individual or organization that has had a significant breakthrough or finding in air quality research impacting central Texas.
- Air Aware Student Leadership Award– recognizing a student who has had a significant and lasting impact on Central Texas air quality in their community.
- Bill Gill Central Texas Air Quality Leadership Award– recognizes an individual who has had a significant and lasting impact on Central Texas air quality.
