CAPCOG General Assembly to hear 87th legislative update

CAPCOG is planning to feature a panel with the state legislators who serve on the COG’s board to discuss the 87th Texas Legislative Session during its 2021 Annual General Assembly Meeting. The meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 8, 2021 at the Austin Marriott South, 4415 South IH 35 in Austin.

During the meeting, the General Assembly also will elect the 2022 Executive Committee based on a proposed a slate of General Assembly representatives recommended by the Nominating Committee elected at September’s meeting. CAPCOG also presents the Jack Griesenbeck Leadership in Regionalism Award and its Phill Parmer Volunteer Award at the December meeting. The first award is named after a Bastrop County Judge and CAPCOG’s first chair; it recognizes someone who consistently advocates a regional and multi-jurisdictional approach through their work with local governments, nonprofits, and other organizations. The latter recognition is named after a longtime Aging Advisory Council member who served the group into his 90s; it honors the continued efforts of an individual who supports CAPCOG activities.
