CAPCOG, Lone Star Clean Fuels Alliance discuss EV fleets

The CAPCOG Air Quality Program has partnered with the Lone Star Clean Fuels Alliance to teach local governments, nonprofits, and central Texas businesses about their electric vehicle (EV) options and creating a successful EV program during an April 7 workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CAPCOG offices, 6800 Burleson Road, Building 310, in Austin.

The workshop will address topics such as developing an EV program that assesses the program’s goals and purpose, gets drivers involved, and matches vehicles with their operational purpose. It also will cover the differences in types of charging equipment and explain charging levels by vehicle type, cost, and time, as well as what grant and rebate programs are available for purchasing EVs and related equipment. Also, a panel of government and private sector implementers will discuss their experiences managing an electric fleet and the valuable lessons they have learned.

During an hour before and after the workshop, attendees will have a chance to network and view EVs, vendor demonstrations, and other EV related products. The workshop is free, but registration is highly recommended.
