CAPCOG recognizes Sommerfeld, Moore for long-time service

CAPCOG honored Julie Sommerfeld, Bastrop County GIS and addressing manager, and Dawn Moore, Fayette County 9-1-1 addressing and GIS coordinator, with its Phill Parmer Volunteer Service Award for their long-term service on the GIS Planning Council and the Capital Area Emergency Communications District’s Strategic Advisory Committee.

The two have served on CAPCOG committees since 2003 providing their expertise, experience and institutional and regional knowledge to advance the region’s 9-1-1 capabilities and use of GIS and mapping data. Both have served in leadership positions and helped direct programing to benefit the entire region. They were recognized at CAPCOG’s annual membership meeting in December.

The Phill Parmer Volunteer Service Award is named after a long-time Aging Advisory Council member who served into his mid-90s as a Llano County representative. The award honors those who have gone above and beyond to volunteer their time with CAPCOG.
