EDA disaster grants still available for Llano, Burnet, Travis counties

Under the FEMA Disaster Declaration 4416, local jurisdictions in Burnet, Llano and Travis counties working on economic development are eligible to apply for the $30 million still available through EDA-Disaster Recovery funding. Projects have to add or retain full-time jobs within the disaster impacted area and can vary in scope from infrastructure, hazard mitigation, workforce development, road improvements and even building construction projects.

CAPCOG can help local jurisdictions affected by the disaster develop applications, coordinate meetings with the EDA, and administer grant projects if awarded. Projects require a 20 percent local match but can be awarded up to $2 million.

For more information about applying for funding, jurisdictions should contact CAPCOG Community and Economic Development Director Rachel Steele.

EDA anticipates the remaining disaster funding, will be awarded by May 2020.
