Executive Committee elects officers after General Assembly

The CAPCOG Executive Committee elected its officers at its January meeting after the General Assembly elected the 29-person board in December. Among those elected by the General Assembly are three new board members and 26 returning local and state elected officials.

Elected to lead the governing body as the CAPCOG Executive Committee Chair was Taylor Mayor Brandt Rydell. The Executive Committee also elected Burnet County Judge James Oakley to serve as First Vice Chair, Lockhart Mayor Lew White as Second Vice Chair, Hays County Commissioner Debbie Ingalsbe as Secretary, and San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson as Parliamentarian. Bastrop County Judge Paul Pape took the position of Immediate Past Chair. Joining the monthly CAPCOG Executive Committee meetings are Buda Mayor Lee Urbanovsky, Pflugerville Mayor Pro Tem Doug Weiss; and Leander Council Member Esmeralda Mattke Longoria.

The Executive Committees provides direction on program implementation, agency budgets, policy, and procedures; it meets the second Wednesday of each month. Those who were elected as board officers work closely with CAPCOG staff on financial and administrative issues as well as other strategic, internal, or policy issues including CAPCOG’s annual audit, budget, staffing and benefits, and emergency communications budget and reserves.
