General Assembly meeting to recognize regionalism efforts

CAPCOG will announce this year’s recipient of the Jack Griesenbeck Leadership in Regionalism Award along with other regional honors during its General Assembly Membership Meeting at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the Austin Marriott South, 4415 South I-35 in Austin. The General Assembly will also elect the 2020 Executive Committee, the agency’s governing body for operational and administrative functions, from the nominated city and county elected officials who serve on the General Assembly.

This year’s awards will also include the Phill Palmer Volunteer Award, which is named after one of CAPCOG’s longest serving committee members and volunteer ombudsman; the Air Central Texas Outstanding Organization Award, which recognizes an organization’s exceptional leadership on regional air quality issues; and the Bill Gill Central Texas Air Quality Leadership Award, which recognizes a person who has made a significant and lasting impact on Central Texas’ air quality.
