New CAPCOG website brings more info to members, partners

CAPCOG recently launched its new website at capcog.org to improve the organization of information, make it easier to navigate, and to update the overall appearance.

“CAPCOG programs are used by a variety of people throughout the region from a city planner seeking a study, to a sheriff’s deputy registering for an in-service course, to an older adult seeking help to care for their spouse or loved one,” said Mason Canales, CAPCOG member services coordinator. “CAPCOG wants it to be as easy as possible for people to find the information they need and learn more about what we do.”

The site helps individuals navigate through CAPCOG’s programs by their function, such as grant funding, specialized reports, or training courses. However, it still allows people to seek information by program area such as air quality, economic development or emergency communications.

The more modern website layout allows CAPCOG to better promote particular programs and events throughout the year by significantly highlighting their importance on its homepage. CAPCOG related news and events continue to be featured on the homepage, but also have a more user-friendly search feature and appear on program and committee pages. Similar updates will soon be available for training courses and workshops which also will streamline the registration and payment process. To directly access current training courses, users can got to training.capcog.org. All of CAPCOG’s reports and studies are now housed in one place and can be searched by name, topic or keyword. The site’s new design will allow CAPCOG to continue with improvements and further enhance its ability to meets its members, partners and patrons’ needs.
