TCEQ opens TERP Rebate Grant Program

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will accept grant applications for its Texas Emissions Reduction Plan Rebate Grant Program starting on July 21, 2020. The program has up to $10 million that will be distributed on a first-come, first services bases to eligible entities in select counties which include Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties.

The rebate program seeks to replaced or repower older heavy-duty, on-road and non-road diesel equipment. Eligible applicants include individuals, corporations, organizations, governments or governmental subdivisions or agencies, business trusts, partnerships, associations, or any other legal entity. Small businesses that meet the federal definition of such may be provided special consideration for funding.

To qualify for a rebate, applicants must have owned and operated the equipment being replaced or repowered for at least two years preceding the application signature date and commit to using the grant-funded equipment at least 55 percent of the annual mileage or hours of operation in one or more of the program’s designated counties.
