Description:

Enter the classroom through the CAPCOG training entrance. This entrance is located under the metal awning near the main parking lot.

Walk down the long hallway to the room.  Signs will be posted to help with direction.

This is a Spanish course designed for dispatchers, 9-1-1 operators, and call-takers.  This course is designed to instruct and develop basic communication skills in Spanish involving key phrases and responses to emergency, fire, police, or medical related calls. It also introduces basic grammar, essential everyday Spanish phrases and Hispanic cultural diversity topics.

The utmost concern is to provide a foundation in the Spanish language that will not only lead to an essential skill for communication operators, but also to the provision of gathering pertinent information for emergency personnel.

Monica Dominguez

Currently a Communications Supervisor with the Georgetown PD.  Monica started her law enforcement career in June 1999 with the Brownfield Police Department and has over 19 years of service. She started with the Georgetown Police Department in December 2004 and was promoted to a Communications Supervisor in 2006 along with becoming a Communications Training Officer. Monica received her  Master Telecommunications certificate in January 2014 and became a TCOLE Instructor in August 2017. She is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.
